Elkhorn Slough Watershed Permit Coordination Program

2004 Implementation Report

The Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County, California, are pleased to release the 2004 Implementation Report for conservation activities in the Elkhorn Slough Watershed conducted under the Elkhorn Slough Watershed Permit Coordination Program. This report collectively fulfills the project reporting requirements for each of the participating agencies and provides general comments on the accomplishments and challenges during the initial five-year implementation period of this highly successful and innovative program. The Program effectively removes barriers to implementation and is used as a tool to assist landowners, farmers and ranchers to protect the economic viability and environmental sustainability of agriculture by implementing environmentally sound and regulatory compliant conservation and restoration projects throughout the working landscape.
